Your New Apex Instructors!
Maddy Slade | 4 Oct 2021Hey Team!
We've got some very exciting news for you. We've added two new instructors to the Apex Family - Ben and Francesca. These two bring something extra special to the team and we couldn't be happier to have them on board. We wanted to give you the opportunity to get to know them a little better so we thought we'd give you a sneak peak into what you can expect when you ride with them.
Ben Stott
What kind of music do you ride to?
I like to keep things eclectic, I’ve got a bit of love for all music genres, I’m gonna give you pop, R&B, hip hop, disco, even rock now and then. The most common thread through my music choices is that there will always be a nod to the 90’s, the era that makes me most nostalgic musically.
What can riders expect from your class?
Rides for your head and your heart. Yes we will sweat, yes we will ride with precision (I’m a Pilates teacher as well, I’m going to be encouraging healthy posture) but the journey’s will always be driven to make you feel good.
How will riders leave your class?
Smiling and ready to take on anything!
What does fitness mean to you?
Fitness has always been the healthiest tool to support my mental health. I keep all forms of movement mindful, this helps me find physical and mental focus, calm and strength. The power of endorphins is real, it brightens up the days!
What do you do in your spare time?
If I’m not harassing my dog Arthur (Yep, I harass him, I’m obsessed) then you’ll find me with my head in a book, I love reading.
Francesca Gordon
What kind of music do you ride to?
R&B, hip hop, reggaeton and Pop. I do love some drum and bass and big house tracks for accelerations and hill climbs though!
What can riders expect from your class?
My classes are full of great tunes, challenging moments but mainly dad dancing and bad jokes. For me, it’s all about escapism so the more you can lose yourself in the music and move freely, the better!
How will riders leave your class?
They can expect to leave feeling empowered and proud of themselves; I want to push people out of their comfort zone, to hone their power and allow them to recognise their capabilities.
What does fitness mean to you?
Fitness is about showing up for yourself; facing challenges head on and learning how you respond to things when they don’t feel easy. I really believe this transfers out of the studio/off the bike, you start to recognise your power and expect more from yourself; if you didn’t give up on those horrific accelerations, you’re less likely to quit on yourself when life gets tough. Fitness is self development and pure escapism.
What do you do in your spare time?
I’m a bit of a foodie! So any chance I can go out to a new restaurant, (finances permitting)…I’m there. I love going to the theatre, reading and watching films; I’m an actress, so anything with an element of storytelling is my bag.
Look out for Ben and Francesca on our live timetables and if you jsut can't wait to give their classes a go check out one of their on-demand rides.
We know you'll love them just as much as we do!
